Trucks with wooden platforms can only be found in tropical countries like Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia. The wooden decks are made of Balau and Chengai wood which can only be found in neighbouring countries.

The reason why the decks are made from these woods is because they have great strength and durability.

Due to the heavier weight of the wooden deck compared to a metal deck, the wooden decks will be installed on a medium or heavy truck chassis. Therefore, pricing for the deck will be more due to the number of trees getting lesser.
